Memory Foam Mattress Cleaning
A memory foam mattress is a popular bed choice for people looking for a comfortable bed. While memory foam was originally very hot to sleep on, there have been many advances in crafting memory foam beds over the last decade. Now, many of these beds sleep just as cool and comfortable as a regular box spring mattress.
If you’re wondering how to clean your new luxury bed, then you’ll be happy to know that memory foam can be cleaned the same way as a standard bed can be. To clean, simply run your vacuum across the bed to pick up dust or loose debris.
If you have a wet stain, start by blotting up as much of the liquid as possible with a dry towel. If the wet stain is food or drink based, a mild detergent and warm water will usually suffice. If the stain is urine or has an unpleasant odor to it, you can scrub it with some white vinegar. Once scrubbed, pour some baking soda on top of the stain and allow it to sit for at least an hour. The baking soda will absorb the odor and help pull out the vinegar. Afterwards, wipe it clean and repeat if necessary.
Avoid Bed Stains with a Mattress Protector
If you’ve bought a new memory foam bed, then it only makes sense to invest a little extra into a high-quality mattress protector. Mattress protectors can help protect your mattress from dust and liquids and significantly increase the lifespan of your new bed. And if you keep a mattress protector on your bed 24/7, then there’s no need to worry about cleaning the bed. Simply wash the mattress protector and you’re good to go!
